These leaves are found at the top of the tree and receive ample sunlight and air. Due to their exposure to sunlight, sun leaves are thicker and smaller in size.

On the other hand, the leaves that grow closer to the trunk of the tree are known as SHADE LEAVES. These leaves are also found at the bottom of the tree. Shade leaves have more chlorophyll compared to sun leaves, as they receive less sunlight due to the shade provided by the sun leaves. The abundance of chlorophyll in shade leaves helps them retain their green color pigment.
